Sewage Treatment Solutions

The primary objective of the sewage scheme is to assist in the collection of sewage or domestic wastewater from every household through pipelines and intermediate pumping stations, taking it to a common facility known as a sewage treatment plant where this sewage water is treated up to the current strict NGT standards or up to the standards to reuse this treated water in horticulture, refrigeration, and processing industries, among other uses. 

In addition to organic materials that serves as a carbon source and assists in the production of organic cells, the sewerage waste water is rich in nitrogen and phosphorus. There are several technologies available for biological nutrient removal as well as sewage waste water 

• To treat water to useable levels, sewage treatment plants use a mix of all or any of the following systems:  
• Primary treatment units are used to remove big particles/solids from sewage. Aeration is used to remove BOD and COD from sewage.  
• There are two sorts of biological systems:
  Aerobic systems that work in the presence of oxygen and anaerobic systems that operate in the absence of oxygen. There are several methods available to remove BOD and COD. 

• Aerobic Systems Include : 
  • Extended Aeration System
  • Diffused Aeration System
  • MBBR (Mixed Bed Biological Reactor)
  • SAFF (Submerged Aerated Fixed Film Reactor)        
  • IFAS
  • SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) MBR (Membrane Bio Reactor) 
  • Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR)

• Aerobic Systems Include : 
  • UASB (Up flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Reactor)
  • High Rate Anaerobic Digestor. 
  • CSTR (Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor) for Sludge Digestion
